WW2 German Tank Marking Test

blackDmith 2022. 7. 5. 20:25

I did a test to attach a decal to a German Tiger tank that I can't even remember when (about 8 years ago?) it was made.
A tank that was left in the corner. There's a lot of dust sitting there.
I can't remember what kind of paint it was, but I think it was Mr.HOBBY or IPP paint.
It was a tank I made for the first time, but I still remember that the color became very dull as I continued to practice camouflage patterns.

(01) Prepare to attach the decal. The decal softener uses Mark Fit Super Strong.
(02) Wow, dust is no joke. It's annoying, so just wipe it off with a cotton swab moistened with water.
But why does the paint come out together? Why? I guess I didn't even put the finishing material on it.
(03) I applied a softener to the side where the decal is to be applied. (Super Stroong~~~)
(04) Move the decal to the Pick up method
(05) Use a cotton swab dipped in softener to adhere to the plastic surface.

(06) Don't do it in a hurry. 3M magic tape was applied in 10 minutes.
(07) It is not perfect because the coating layer is removed without giving enough time for the decal to stick to the plastic surface.
But it doesn't feel bad at all. (Uh???)
(08) In the same way, attach another decal right next to it.
(09) This time I gave plenty of time for the decal to stick. I think I left it on for over an hour.
Forgot to measure the time.
(10) The coating was neatly removed with 3M magic tape.
It's perfect, but somehow it feels different.

I don't know the historical evidence, but it still feels like a different feeling when you put the German military mark on it.
Let's do some actual weathering tests.
